Thank You

I have to thank all of you for your prayers this last week! Believe me... they were felt! God is so good and spoke so clearly to me the latter part of the week! Yes sisters! I'M BELIEVING GOD!

Had a wonderful, restful weekend and got a lot done. The halls are completely un-decked and the Christmas deocrations are tucked away until next season. I am always a bit sad when I put everything away. Fortunately as Christians we keep Christmas alive in our hearts all year round! But it's nice to get the house back in order. I still have 2 lovely poinsettias - and I am going to do my best to keep them alive. I found a website that gave info on how to get them to re-bloom. OK, so it's going to take some work, but we like to garden! I am at least going to give it a try!

Now that the decorations are securely put away, I can now focus on the house! Cabinets, closets, drawers! All need cleaned out and re-organized! I am also going to paint our bedroom and one of the guest bedrooms in the next few months. They need it. Other painting projects will wait until spring when I can have the windows open! Ah spring... I am dreaming! But I sure wish we would get one good snowstorm! We have had a pretty pathetic winter as far as snow goes. Not much at all. I am of the opinion "if it's winter, it might as well snow". At least you can play in the snow. Rain and 36 degrees doesn't give one much opportunity to enjoy winter weather! But God has his reasons... We are also going to get a new light fixture in the kitchen and re-do the ceiling. I want beadborad!

So, what plans do you have for your homes this winter? Any projects? I'd love to hear about them!

Love,

Hey! Congrats on your work this weekend! Doesn't it make you feel good to know that it's packed away until next year? I'm like you, it is a little sad, but I am so thankful that Christ lives in my heart and hopefully shines for others to see.

So,what color are you going to use for the bedrooms? I am pondering a new color of paint for the study. It's all boring beige! Gotta liven things up around here!!! Good luck with your projects! I have to wait unitl paycheck time to do my creating!!

Blessings,
Susan

Thought about you a lot last week... glad your heart is happier. I had a hard week too.

My plans for my house this winter are 1)finish unpacking the last of the boxes from our move one year ago and 2)get Emily's room ready to move in the twins.

Hugs!

Been thinking about you!

I'm with you--if it's going to be cold and wintery, it might as well snow. That doesn't happen that much here in TN, but we are hoping for some "bad" weather this week! Hopefully it will be more than rain, but some white stuff too!

I found myself doing a little early Spring cleaning after Christmas. It was easy those couple days because we had that burst of warm temperatures that came through. Today, though I am hunkering down knowing we have this Arctic Blast coming our way!!!

No winter projects for me. In the short four years I've been here, we've painted every room. They are colors I'm satisfied with and with the house for sell, I can't justify the time and money in redecorating. Although, I love to decor. I'm staying away from Hobby Lobby for that reason. I somewhat dread spring because with it comes lots of yard clean up by myself. It can be rejuvenating to see the progress of the end result but can also be draining with the emotions of selling and being left to tend to it alone.
One day at at time. I don't know that we've even hit the hardest winter in my parts.
Love,
Paula

Love the new profile pic Kristen. We just finished updating our bathroom if you really want to know. I am hopeful that we will be pulling up some carpeting and laying some hardwood in the coming year. We haven't moved very fast on these projects due to the fact that we have been talking about moving a little south of here closer to our jobs. You sound so cheerful today. Thanks for being you. This is a nice place to come after a long day at work;)

So glad you are feeling better this week. Thank you for stopping by my blog.

This winter's plan for the house is organization 101. I am adding a new subject to my blog on Friday's. I had a great response to my post on National Organize Your Home Day and am going to do a 'tip' post each week. So with that said I have some organizing to do in order to post some pictures on Friday.

Otherwise, it is just adjusting to my husband being laid off work and our need to find medical health coverage for him because of his kidney transplant and all those very expensive medications he takes - lots of work ahead!!

Blessings to you and prayers for your own business' and finances.

Kristen--so glad you're are feeling better, and congrats on all you got done. You sound really focused on getting your projects done.

2 years ago, when my husband was out of town, I painted and re-decorated 3 rooms--L.R, Dining R, and kitchen. (It had been his house when we got married, and he said I could decorate it my way). We had already painted the bathroom right away as it was a pepto-bismol pink. So...I think this winter I want to organize cabinets and drawers and paint our little entryway. Also need to unpack/throw away stuff that is still in boxes from when I moved in 3 years ago!
Have a blessed week! Donna

Kristen, your blog background and new profile picture are both gorgeous!:)

I'm glad that you are feeling better after all of the prayers.

As soon as I am done with my bed rest for my back nonsense (God willing), I am ready to organize and clean my house. For financial reasons right now, we cannot decorate, paint, or repair anything, but I can at least organize it and keep it clean, amen?;) So that's my plan for winter. I hope that we get a snow here in Crazyville too. We rarely do, but I do love to watch the snow fall...so, I'm crossing my fingers.:)

God Bless,
Amy:)

I just love the noew look of the blog and your picture. What a beauty you are! God's love shines through your face and smile.

I really can't do anything major to my house since it is the parsonage, but I have added some touches here and there with decorating. We have a lovely large home that the Lord has provided through our church.

They are in the process of making our patio biggger and putting a cover on it! Yay!

I love coming to your page. It always blesses.

In Him,
Beth

If enough money comes in I would love to have the cement laid for our new ot tub we inherited from the house my husband and his buddy jusy "flipped". Or to glass tiles I am coveting for my backspash in the kitchen. My list could go on and on!!

Keep the faith!!

My son moved upstairs to a bigger bedroom so his other room will become hubby's new office. It needs to be repainted then we'll move his desk, etc., out of our bedroom into the office and our bedroom will be just a bedroom again!

Kristen, so glad you are feeling better.

Re: the house. Because of my illness, imo the house has gone to rack and ruin. There are only so many hours in the day. Mike doesn't want me to waste whatever energy I have on house cleaning. He doesn't have time to do things like dust, etc. and neither does DD#2. They're both picking up a lot of other extra things. So Mike finally convinced me to hire a housekeeper.

Our winter project is to get the house back in order. Trish, the housekeeper, is the best cleaning person I have ever met in my life. Honestly, she is keeping the house looking the best it ever has. I supervise some things, but she's doing a great job. She's going to help me sort through all the excess papers, magazines, etc that somehow seem to plague people all the time. Mainly she's going to help me trash stuff. It's very liberating!

Do you mind posting the link to the poinsettia website? I have two beautiful ones in 5 gallon pots that I would love to have bloom again next season.
