Prayer Request

Each Wednesday evening I lead a small group Bible study. At the end of each lesson we have prayer time w/ prayer requests. I feel compelled to ask my siestas reading my blog to pray for this family.

My dear friend Tonja has a nephew - Justin who is serving in Afghanistan. He was granted leave a few weeks ago as his wife Kiesha was due to deliver their first baby. Miley, a sweet baby girl came into this world. Miley has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. Kiesha has been admitted to the hospital with kidney problems and Justin was denied an extension of his leave and returned to Afghanistan on Monday.
I cannot fathom the fear, anxiety and sadness this family must be experiencing at this time. If any of you are so compelled, please write your prayers in a comment. I would love to print them off... give them to Tonja to send along to her nephew and his family.

Father God, I ask you to be with Justin, Kiesha, Miley and all of their family as they face struggles that so many of us cannot fathom. Cradle them in Your loving arms, provide protection, healing and strength during this difficult time. May they know that You are their rock, their fortress their strength. I ask all of this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus. Amen

Kristen, I journeyed over here today from Elaine's blog as your "Snow White" comment so captivated me. There are many days when I'm wishing for the One I love to find me - find me in my forest of fear, doubt, insecurity etc... The recollection of that simple song spoke volumes to my heart.

I know the Lord had other reasons to send me here today too. I will indeed pray for your friends. This situation seems too hard to bear - not just one heartache, but several. There are things that touch lives that seem unfathomable, yet God calls us to keep trusting. Praying God will not only give them strength, but be their strength.

Love & hugs,
Joy

Father God, I come to you on behalf of this precious young family, so in need of your grace right now. Lord I pray, should it be your will, that you place your hand of healing upon Kiesha. No doubt her heart is already hurting with the knowledge of her baby’s illness, now compounded by her husband’s departure. Father, I ask that you bring her back to health, and strengthen her for the days ahead. I also ask that you simply be near to her…may she feel your unmistakable presence and peace amidst all this anxiety. Father, I pray you sustain Baby Miley. I pray her doctors can quickly develop a treatment plan that will most effectively fight off the effects of this disease. Lord, I ask that you be near to Justin at this time. I can’t imagine the anguish and helplessness he must be feeling when he’s so far away. Calm his fears and worries, Lord. Keep him safe, for the remainder of his length of service. We know and trust in your sovereign will. You make no mistakes. May this family cling to you for strength in their time of waiting. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. ~ Isaiah 40:28-31

Kristen,
I hope it brings peace and comfort to this family in knowing they are being prayed over by women all over the country (and the world).
Prayer is so powerful and it gives us a way to help others when we feel helpless to do anything else. Thank you for allowing me to send prayers on their behalf.....

On My Knees,
Kelley

Kristen thank you for sharing this with us. I'll be praying for Justin, Kiesha and Miley. Please look at www.cfhusband.blogspot.com to see what miracles God has done in this young couple's journey dealing with Cystic Fibrosis and their beautiful gift of life in their daughter, Gwyneth Rose.

Last night, Justin-Kiesha-and Miley were the first family I prayed for during my prayer time. I believe God for his peace to surround this family today and in the days to come. Please keep me posted on their progress.

This touched my heart deeply and I can't even fathom what this Father is going through. The only comfort that I can even glimpse is that Our Heavenly Father does. So I place this family, in His hands. Hands that are big enough, strong enough, gentle enough, and have all the HEALING in the universe to provide for Justin, Kiesha and Miley.

Will add them to my prayer journal.

Prayerful,
Yolanda

Dearest Kristen,
I would be honored to pray for this family. Like you, I cannot fathom having to go through something like this! I will get on my knees for them before I go to bed tonight! I hope they cling to the only one who can help them in this difficult time. He is in the center of it all! I wish I had words to comfort them, but all I can do is pray and I'll do that now!
Much love in Christ alone,
Angie xoxo
