2011 Siesta Scripture Memory Team
I am so excited to begin 2011 participating in the Siesta Scripture Memory Team! On the 1st and 15th of each month during 2011 I will be choosing a verse of scripture to memorize. By the end of 2011 I will have memorized 24 verses! Your prayers would be wonderful as I attempted to do this a few years ago and failed miserably. By April I got lazy and quit! I am determined to make it through this time with the Lord's help and plenty of prayer!
The verse I have chosen for January 1st - 14th, 2011 is John 8:12:
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
I have this scripture highlighted in my bible to read the day after Christmas - I always get a bit depressed the day after Christmas when the lights, trees, and sounds of the season seem to immediately cease!
For all my "Siestas" participating - I am praying for you as we journey together! For those who have not heard of the Scripture Memory Team - click the link above - read on and join in!
Happy New Year dear ones!!!

Woo Hoo.... We can hold one another accountable and see it to the end!!! So excited for all God has in store with this for us. Happy New Year!!!
Hi Kristen, I came to your blog from Jennifer's at Smelling Coffee. I am on the SSMT on the LPM blog as well. I'm so excited by how many are memorizing together. What a huge blessing!
I will NOT let you quit this year, Kristen! I promise! You can do it! It changed my life when I did it. I missed it last year.
Love YOU!
Angie xoxo
p.s. I still have my tree up! When I look at those lights I'll pray for you not to get depressed. By the way, I get that way after Christmas!
I'm participating and so are my daughters. I did this two years ago and it was a tremendous blessing. Last time round I memorized random verses but this year, for a number of reasons, I've decided to memorize the first chapter of James.
I still have my decorations up...I need to take them down but ugh. Not ready : )
Hi Kristen, I came by way of Smelling Coffee but have visited your blog before. I am again participating in the SSMT. What a huge blessing it was and and so powerful. This past year my friend and I did it together just as we did with Beth. We held each other accountable and we made it through the year. Don't quit this time. It will change your life. Nothing like hearing women, young and old, saying their verses all over at the same time. God was listening and He heard.
Blessings,
