RAIN

Some of you may know that I am a cyclist. This Saturday I will be participating in RAIN (Ride Across Indiana) - the ride is 160 miles - One day, One way. Any prayers you could offer this week as I prepare as well as on Saturday as I ride would be greatly appreciated. I will be spending 8 + hours in the saddle. That's a lot of time on a bike. So far this year my longest ride is a century (100 miles) It's going to be hard, but I know that I can do all things with Christ - He Is My Strength! I am excited and nervous. On the road it will be me, 1500 + other cyclists and God.

A bike ride is kind of like life... exhilarating, painful, fun, full of twists and turns, ups and downs, but with a wonderful reward at the end. It's funny, no matter how difficult the ride... no matter how much pain I endure during a ride - it's always worth it in the end. Just like life's lessons... no matter how much pain... God makes it all worth it in the end. It's to His glory. And it's to His glory that I ride this weekend! Because of the gifts He has given me I am able to do a ride like this. There are times when I am on my bike hurting and I pray over and over, be my pedals Lord, be my pedals.

As I prepare I will be in prayer and in His Word. I love the chorus to the song Word of God Speak... and since I am doing a ride called RAIN - I pray that His Word pours like rain into my heart, mind, soul and speaks to me along the way... and that I can enjoy the beauty of His majesty on this one day event in my journey with Him.

Word of God speak
Would You pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty
To be still and know
That You're in this place
Please let me stay and rest
In Your holiness
Word of God speak
(from Mercy Me's Word of God Speak)

You are a better woman than me! Ride on, sweet one, and may the treasure trove of God's abundant provision and presence be with you as you log each mile. I'll be praying.

Good Luck Kristen, I will be praying for you. My rear hurts just thinking about being "in the saddle" for 8 hours but I know you can do it. Don't you love how God speaks to us through our passions? I just posted on running a couple of days ago. I can't wait to hear how much fun you have on this race, and the lessons you come away with....

Love,
Kelley

Oh, and I love the name of the race too. RAIN~~how cool is that??

I've missed you!!! I'm cramming today for a Hebrew final I have tomorrow, but I just wanted to drop a quick hello. Really....

And that song that you have at the end of this post....I was thinking of it last night!!! It rained relatively hard for the first time here in Boston in a LONG time. It will sprinkle rain here every once in a while, but I guess there's not enough humidity for it to have any real rain! Anyway, too much information, but man did it minister to my soul. I just kept thinking about God's rain nourishing this earth, as His love nourishes our souls. Why would we go elsewhere searching for a false love!??

Have a blast cycling! You're a braver woman than me :) Hehe..

PS - You could not be any more beautiful :)
